In my present role as Assistant Professor in the Behavioral Health and Wellness Program, in the Department of Psychiatry at University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus, I work with various national, state, and community agencies on projects related to mental health and wellness, tobacco cessation, Motivational Interviewing training, workplace resiliency, health behavior change, and digital health. Prior to academia, I headed a consulting firm where I worked with educational institutions and international corporations as their behavioral health expert. I am passionate about understanding individual differences in responses to health interventions and in applying innovative and entrepreneurial thinking to create pioneering holistic digital health/healthcare solutions that will improve treatment efficacy by making them more accessible, personalized, and result oriented.

I earned my Master of Science and Master of Philosophy degrees in Psychology from University of Madras, PhD from Michigan Technological University, and completed my postdoctoral training at Yale School of Medicine in the area of teen tobacco cessation intervention. I am a professionally registered member of the Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI), a lifetime member of the Indian Association of Clinical Psychologists (IACP) and have held memberships with American Psychological Association (APA), Association for Psychological Sciences (APS), British psychological Society (BPS), Society for Research on Nicotine and Tobacco (SRNT), and Human Factors & Ergonomics Society (HFES).

I consider myself a lifelong learner. I enjoy being with nature, volunteering, travelling, interacting with people, and trying out different cuisines.
