Obesity Rate in Young Children Decreasing

A report published today in the Journal of the American Medical Association states that obesity in children from 2 to 5 years old has dropped 43 percent in the past decade. About 8 percent of 2- to 5-year olds were obese in 2012, down from 14 percent in 2004. Although the results show a growing concern for obesity in our young children, the report also states that overall, there have been no significant changes in obesity prevalence in youth or adults.
