Anschutz Medical Campus, Health Sciences Library – Transportation and Lodging Information


The training will be held at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Library. Full directions and parking information are available on the Health Sciences Library website.

To/from airport – The Anschutz Medical Campus is approximately 20 minutes from the Denver International Airport (DEN) and downtown Denver is approximately 30 minutes. The University of Colorado A Line train runs from DEN to downtown Denver’s Union Station. You can transfer to the R Line from the A Line Peoria Station, with a free campus shuttle circulating from the R Line Fitzsimons Station. Alternatively, the R Line Colfax Station is about a one mile walk to the library. There are also bus and taxi services available from the airport, including Uber and Lyft. Many hotels also offer shuttle services.

The University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus is conveniently located near Denver International Airport (DEN) and downtown Denver. The University has negotiated rates with many hotels in the Denver area for people traveling on University business. The full list – including rates, amenities, and ways to reserve a room – can be found through the University of Colorado Preferred Hotel Program. Be sure to click on the “AMC” tab for hotels near the Anschutz Medical Campus (although some are several miles from campus) or choose “UCD/System” for hotels in downtown Denver (although some listed under this tab are not downtown).

The Denver area offers several choices of lodging locations to suit your preferences and priorities. General descriptions of these locations are found below, with corresponding hotels from the CU Preferred Hotel Program. The Behavioral Health & Wellness Program does not endorse any particular hotel or location. Also, please be advised that rates are subject to availability, so we recommend booking early.


Although convenient to the training, be advised, hotels in this location do not offer many options in the way of dining or other local attractions. These hotels are a ~0.7 mile walk to/from the library and may provide free shuttle service to campus.

There are several newer hotels located near or en route from the airport, some of which provide shuttle service to campus and/or to DEN. Although convenient to the airport, these hotel locations do not offer many options in the way of dining or other local attractions. These hotels are ~5 miles from campus.

Stapleton is located between the Anschutz Medical Campus and downtown Denver. The hotels are located near retail complexes with restaurants and shopping. Some offer airport and/or campus shuttles. These hotels are 4-5 miles from campus.

If you wish to see other parts of the city or stay over the weekend, you may enjoy staying in the downtown area. You can use the RTD A and R Lines as described above to/from DEN and campus (no airport or campus shuttles from these hotels), and many hotels are within walking distance of Union Station. If driving or using Uber/Lyft, plan on a minimum 30-minute drive from downtown during rush hours. All downtown hotels are ~10 miles from campus.
